Two adults and a family dog were found stabbed to death inside a Westminster home Monday evening, Oct. 19, after a man called police and reported killing someone, authorities said.

Officers responded to a residence in the 13500 block of Sutter Drive about 5:50 p.m. and encountered a man with visible blood on his hands, Westminster police said in a statement.

Officers detained the man after he made statements to police and searched the home, where they found the adults who appeared to have suffered stab wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers also discovered a family dog that appeared to have been stabbed to death.

Detectives identified the suspect as Benjamin Hoang, who was arrested and expected to be booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder.

Police said evidence indicated Hoang and both victims were family members, though their exact relationships were unclear.

The victims’ identities were not immediately released.
