Two people were killed after a domestic violence suspect crashed into their car while fleeing from police on Wednesday night, April 1, authorities said.

Officers seized a gun and several firearm components in the truck used by the suspect, Marshall Judson, 31, of Pomona, who also didn’t have a valid driver’s license, said Aly Diaz, spokeswoman for the Pomona Police Department.

Police went to the 400 block of East 10th Street at 9:33 p.m. on a domestic violence call. Officers were talking to the suspect’s wife when he returned in a truck.  He drove recklessly and intentionally hit a patrol car that was parked, Diaz said.

“No officers were inside the parked police car and no officers were injured,” she added.

The suspect then took off, pursued by police. The chase headed south on Garey Avenue. The suspect’s truck crashed into a car near Garey Avenue and Country Road. The car’s driver and passenger died at the scene, Diaz said.

The medical examiner’s office has not yet publicly identified the two victims.

Police arrested Judson on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, driving under the influence, driving without a valid license and evading police, as well as gun-related charges.

Police had received two domestic violence calls Wednesday for the 10th Street address but details about the earlier call were unavailable.

As of Tuesday, Judson remained at Pomona jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
