Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have split up — for good.
The “Wicked” costars “quietly” and amicably parted ways “several months” ago after “careful consideration,” sources close to the pair told TMZ.
The Oscar-nominated pop star, 32, and 34-year-old Broadway veteran’s relationship made waves amid speculation it began before either was truly separated from their respective spouses. They reportedly remain pals and “very supportive of one another.”
Insiders added to TMZ that the breakup in no way inspired Grande’s new album, “petal,” out late next month.
July also marks three years since news first broke that Grande — who just started her “Eternal Sunshine” tour — and Slater, known at the time for playing the titular role in the “Spongebob Squarepants” musical, had started dating.
Grande at the time was fresh off the heels of her separation from husband Dalton Gomez, while Slater was reported to have separated from wife Lilly Jay, with whom he shared a baby boy.
“They didn’t start dating until both were broken up with their significant others,” a source at the time told ET.
A source then told the outlet that, following their respective splits, the Grammy winner and Slater were “friends first.”
Slater and his high school sweetheart finalized their divorce in September 2024, with Jay breaking her silence in a December 2024 essay for The Cut. There, she detailed the impact the Grande-Slater romance had had on her career as a licensed clinical psychologist.
