Man shot in leg during botched robbery in Bronx subway station

A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg during a botched robbery on a Bronx subway station platform Wednesday, cops said.

The victim was standing on the northbound B and D trains platform at the Tremont Ave. station near Grand Concourse in Morris Heights around 8:09 p.m. when two men approached him and demanded his valuables, police said.

A struggle ensued that ended when one of the crooks drew a firearm and shot the victim in his left leg, according to police.

Medics rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he’s expected to survive.

The thieves fled the station on foot. There were no arrests.

A police source said the suspects were wearing black hoodies and surgical masks. Cops were scouring the station and surrounding streets for surveillance video that could help them track the suspects down.
