A 63-year-old woman was brazenly shot in the leg Saturday outside her apartment after taking out her garbage in the Bronx, officials said.
The victim was just returning to her apartment after taking out some trash when she was shot around 9:01 a.m. near E. 197th St. and Briggs Ave. in Bedford Park.
The gunman took off and no arrests were made.

EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas hospital where she was in stable condition.
Investigators believe the gunman shot the woman in retaliation for something her son did. The son was not home at the time of the shooting, police sources said.
